Υφάντρες (Ifádres) + Balachko Beats

Taken from the Greek translation of “the weaving women”, Υφάντρες weaves a bridge across oceans and through family lines, reinterpreting Greek blues (rebetiko), urban folk music (laiko), and traditional folk songs on the keyboard and guitar.

Balachko Beats are a group of musicians with Eastern European heritage, spanning from the Balkans to Ukraine.

Performing a mix of traditional and contemporary melodies, Balachko Beats is a 6-piece ensemble, featuring Helena Markovitch (Vocals), Derek Grice (Clarinet), Svetlana Bunic (Accordion), Aaron Entresz (Guitar), Crystal Livermore-Antonowicz (Guitar) and Sasha Gavlek (Bass).

Rhythmz Bollywood will be making a special appearance to get the whole crowd dancing and show off their Bollywood dancing skills. We will also see solo performances from some of the youngest Bollywood crew.

Also joining us, Taiwanese artist Nuta will be painting an original artwork. Inspired by inner stillness, nature and travel, Nuta’s work explores the connection between art, people and place, bringing each environment to life through thoughtful murals and symbolic imagery.

Local superstars, Chan Bao are all about Taiwanese soul-food, especially Taiwanese steamed bao buns. Craving traditional home cooked comfort foods, they decided to bring a taste of Taiwan to Nipaluna/Hobart.
