Frequently Asked Questions
Get in touch with our Venue and Production Manager, Hamish Stevenson, to check availability and discuss your requirements. We’ll talk through your event, confirm the space suits your needs, and provide a quote — including subsidised rates if you’re an art organisation or community group.
The Makers Workshop is generally available during MAC’s standard opening hours, though evening and weekend bookings can be arranged depending on availability. Availability can be limited during peak periods, so we recommend enquiring as early as possible, especially for recurring or multi-day bookings.
The Makers Workshop is best suited to practical, hands-on activities such as workshops, classes, and training sessions — particularly those involving craft, visual art, or messy materials, thanks to the large sink unit. It’s not set up for high-volume audio/visual productions or large-scale performance events; for those, our Performance Studio may be a better fit. Get in touch if you’re not sure which space suits your event.
